AI This Week — About This Series

August 11, 2026

There's no shortage of AI news. What's missing is "okay, but what happened when you actually used it?"

This series is not a news summary. Each week covers only what I actually did:

  • Tools and models I used — results from putting them into my projects, not marketing copy
  • What I built — what shipped or got fixed that week, how long it took, what it cost
  • A verdict — keep, drop, and why

Why this format

Deciding to adopt a tool from its launch announcement usually ends in regret — the gap between the demo and daily use is wide. I work as an engineer at a US tech company and spend my side time building apps and automating business workflows — which means I end up trying new things every week anyway. This series just shares the log.

One promise: nothing appears here that I haven't used myself.

How to follow

This series ships as the newsletter — subscribe to get issues the moment they're out; the blog keeps the archive.

Start with issue one: Week 33, 2026 — the week I made this site bilingual and bolted on an SEO engine
